Qualification: Officers working in the central or state government, autonomous or statutory organizations, public sector undertakings, etc. are eligible to apply for the post.
Selection Process: The appointment shall be made by the Central Government on the recommendation of the Search-and-Selection Committee set up for this purpose. It may, however, be noted that the Search-and-Selection Committee is free to identify and recommend any other person, on the basis of merit, who has not applied for the post.
